Ben was Born in Pleasant Ridge, outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. His stories come from his childhood, growing up in the Ohio River Valley, as well as stories of his own creation. Ben has lived in Northern Illinois since becoming an educator in 1974. In his many years of working with students, both as a teacher and as an elementary school principal, he has seen the value of stories in teaching. "Storytelling gives people an opportunity to share the laughter and the tears; the experiences of life that give us all a common bond. I can remember sitting on the front porch when the families got together. It was easy to tell when the stories started - the children grew quiet!" – Ben Ben is a member of the following
